Edify had the pleasure to work with Asahi Canada to build their new Canadian headquarters in the Studio District, located in the bustling Leslieville neighborhood in the east end of Toronto, situated in a 100 year old brick and beam factory.

With offices all over Asia and Europe, Asahi's new Canadian headquarters needed a space that not only catered to their staff but also allowed for a multifunctional space. The primary social space acted as a lunch room but also functioned as a lecture hall, hospitality for clients and a grand hall to have Town Hall meetings that could wirelessly connect with their international counterparts. Additionally, this area is a showcase for Asahi's product offerings and a place to come together and collaborate.
A couple of challenges with the build were experienced where we discovered existing environmental conditions had to be restored and maintained throughout the project. As well, the Pandemic hit affecting timelines, scheduling trades and material deliveries. It was also recognized that a design change needed to be made to the coffee bar which was converted into a hand wash station to address our new reality.
Workstations have adjustable desks that allow for sitting or standing offering personalized ergonomic comfort for staff.
And apart from the main boardroom, supplementary breakout rooms have been outfitted with integrated A/V where each room can communicate with one another.
This was a true collaborative effort that went smoothly with the client, designer and landlord.
